Annual Spring Plant Sale

Each year, our students gain valuable hands-on experience by cultivating a diverse range of plants and horticultural products. Last year, they proudly showcased their hard work through our annual Spring Plant Sale.

The sale featured over 100 plant varieties and was held on April 15-16, 2026, in partnership with Entrepreneurship Day. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our students and their work-we appreciate your support and look forward to sharing even more exciting offerings next year!

About our Program:  Housed at the Advanced Career Education Center at Hermitage, students from across HCPS high schools explore the science, art, and business of plant production through hands-on learning in our greenhouse and outdoor growing spaces.

11th and 12th grade students participate in a high-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) model as they grow, maintain, and market a wide variety of plants, flowers, and horticultural products. Students gain experience in greenhouse operations, plant care, landscape design, and customer service while supporting real plant sales and school-based projects.

Many of the plants used in campus landscaping, seasonal sales, and community partnerships are cultivated and cared for by our students. Through these experiences, students build practical skills in agriculture, sustainability, and small business management.

Students typlically apply to the Floriculture & Greenhouse Management Program during their 10th or  11th grade year for this 1 year program. Click here for current application information.
