Donuts for Donations:

We are excited to help the Henrico Christmas Mother this year by collecting non-perishable food items through Friday, November 13. The class with the highest percentage collected compared to the number of students will win a donut party. There will be a Day 1 and Day 2 winner. Thank you in advance for helping those in need.

Clothing for Cash:

We have a clothing for cash box in front of ACE at Hermitage. Consider donating clothing, shoes, towels, textiles, etc. Please bag all items before placing them in the donation box.

October Safety Drills:

As part of our ongoing commitment to safety, ACE will conduct a Fire Drill and Shelter-in-Place to an Earthquake Drill this month. During the drill, visitors will not be allowed to enter the building, and we will be unable to answer the phone. Thank you in advance for your assistance and cooperation.

Work Attire, Scrubs & School Fees:

If you still need to pay school fees, visit the OSP website. After completing the sign-in process, click on Obligations at the top to add those fees to the cart. Then click on High Schools, Advanced Career Education Center at Hermitage and pay for any other fees (CTSO membership, work attire, etc.). Invoices for those with outstanding fees will be printed and sent home.

Lunch from the cafeteria when at ACE:

Hermitage High School is part of the Community Eligibility Provision, which allows certain schools to offer free meals to any student at any time. There are currently 49 schools within the division that offer this benefit. Students are eligible to receive free meals at Hermitage on their ACE days. Please reach out to School Nutrition Services at (804) 261-9460 with any questions.

Pink Out:

Our school store, The Cube, is selling Pink Out shirts that students can wear as part of their work attire during October. The shirts are $10 each, and all proceeds will be donated directly to the VCU Massey Cancer Center. We will also accept direct donations and hope to bring a big check from ACE at Hermitage to help fight cancer. Stay tuned for additional details.

Survey Opportunity:

Our school has been invited to participate in a brief student survey for First Ignition RVA, a new community program being developed to help Richmond-area students earn their driver's license, access reliable transportation, and prepare for future employment opportunities.

The organizers are seeking input directly from students to better understand their transportation needs, driving goals, and interests. Student feedback will help shape how the program is designed and implemented.

About the Survey

  • Takes approximately 2 minutes to complete.

  • The survey is completely anonymous.

  • No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other identifying information will be collected.

  • Students will be asked a few simple questions regarding whether they currently have a driver's license, learner's permit, or interest in driving, followed by a small number of related questions.

Participation in this survey is voluntary. Students may choose not to participate at any time. If you do not want your child to participate in this survey, communicate with your student to decline to participate when students are asked to participate in the survey. We appreciate your support as we work to explore opportunities that may help students gain skills, independence, and access to future career opportunities.
