Updates from ACE at Hermitage 9/15/26 & Life Ready Expo tomorrow 9/16
Posted Date: 09/15/26 (07:08 PM)
Good evening ACE families,
We have had a busy but amazing first few weeks of school. Students have been working hard and are getting into the rhythm of a new school year. Below are some important upcoming events and announcements.
Life Ready Expo - Wed 9/16 - 6-8 PM:
HCPS students and their families are invited to attend the Annual Life-Ready Expo tomorrow at Hermitage High School from 6-8 PM. This is a mandatory event for ACE students, which has been communicated previously by ACE teachers. Students don't need to stay for the duration of the event but should come ready to network and explore a variety of career possibilities. We look forward to seeing our students tomorrow evening.
Safety Drills:
As part of our ongoing commitment to safety, ACE will conduct a Lock & Hide safety drill this week. During the drill, visitors will not be allowed to enter the building, and we will be unable to answer the phone. Thank you in advance for your assistance and cooperation.
Glen Allen Day - Sat 9/19:
We invite all ACE students and families to join us at Glen Allen Day this Saturday. Students interested in walking in the parade need to report to the meeting area at 9:00 AM. We also need students to help represent ACE at our tables after the parade. Teachers have shared the sign-up information with students and can answer additional questions. We hope to see you in your teal and purple at Crump Park.
Back to School Night:
On Tuesday, September 22, we invite parents/guardians to attend our Back to School. For students new to ACE at Hermitage, we will share the same information from Orientation on Thursday, August 20. Below is the schedule for Back to School Night. Please contact your child's teacher with any questions. The schedule for the evening is below.
5:30 - 6:00 - 2nd year families report to classrooms
5:45 - 6:10 - 1st year/new program families attend “Welcome to ACE” session in The Forum
6:15 - 7:00 - 1st year/new program families report to classrooms
Work Attire, Scrubs & School Fees:
Work attire t-shirts have been distributed to students who have paid their program fees. Students in our Graphic Communications program are working hard to get the sweatshirts made and delivered as soon as they are finished. Scrubs for our medical programs are arriving daily, and our team is in the process of sorting and delivering them. Thank you in advance for your patience as some sizes/colors are on backorder.
School fees can be paid using the OSP website. After completing the sign-in process, click on Obligations at the top to add those fees to the cart. Then click on High Schools, Advanced Career Education Center at Hermitage and pay for any other fees (CTSO membership, work attire, etc.). Teachers will also send home fee sheets for cash or check payments, if needed.
Pink Out:
Our school store, The Cube, is selling Pink Out shirts that students can wear as part of their work attire during October. The shirts are $10 each, and all proceeds will be donated directly to the VCU Massey Cancer Center. We will also accept direct donations and hope to bring a big check from ACE at Hermitage to help fight cancer. Stay tuned for additional details.
